it is inert ceramic raschig ring shaped which is produced from a specially formulated silica / alumina material and fired under strict controlled conditions ensuring the following properties:

High temperature resistance
High thermal shock resistance
Uniform roundness to minimize pressure drop
High crushing strength.
High void space.

Ceramic Raschig Ring as bed hold-down material at the top of the catalyst bed can provide pressure drop relief, optimize the flow distribution, capture of particulates and other contaminants in the feed.
